Hints & Tips

We have made it our mission to give you the insight into all things bottle feeding when you’re on the go.

Essentials for bottle feeding when out and about

How to bottle feed on the go

First of all, why does no one tell you about the complexities of bottle feeding when you’re out and about before you actually have to do it? Do they just want you be ill-prepared? While breastfeeding, you already have all your equipment (so to speak) ready to go, but when it comes to bottle feeding, it’s not quite as simple.

Not to worry, though! It doesn’t have to be all that complicated if you know what you’re doing and you have the right gadgets to help you on your way.

Preparing ingredients and equipment for bottle feeding out and about

If you are filling your bottles with breast milk, all you need to do is express and keep the clean bottle chilled in a cool bag. You can then heat the breast milk however you prefer and you’re good to go.

You’ll probably find that there’s a few more steps to prepping a perfect bottle for your little one if you’re prepping formula rather than breast milk. For preparing infant formula, you will need:

  • A carefully measured amount of formula in a clean and dry container
  • A vacuum flask of hot, just boiled water
  • A sterilised feeding bottle

Then just simply mix the ingredients and wait for it to feel warm, not hot (consider the milk on the wrist trick) and you’re all good.
